About The Author

Anil Kumar Verma

Anil Kumar Verma is the principal editor of this book, bringing expertise in sustainable energy and biorefineries, particularly the application of carbohydrate-active enzymes derived from lignocellulosic waste. He earned his PhD in May 2015 from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, Assam, focusing on the carbohydrate-active enzyme glucuronoxylan xylanohydrolase from Clostridium thermocellum.

Following his doctoral studies, he was awarded a prestigious DST-SERB National Post-Doctoral Fellowship (N-PDF) and joined The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI, New Delhi). There, he served as Principal Investigator (PI) for a project investigating the molecular cloning, biochemical characterization, and structural and functional analysis of novel carbohydrate-active enzymes.

During his N-PDF fellowship, Dr. Verma was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Central University Sikkim, where he teaches industrial microbiology and instrumentation. He has mentored 20 MSc dissertations and is currently supervising 3 PhD students in microbiology. He has authored approximately 51 publications in peer-reviewed journals, accumulating an impact factor exceeding 60 and receiving over 435 citations, with an h-index of 11.
