Andy Stanton studied English at Oxford but they kicked him out. Before becoming a children’s writer he was a film script reader, a market researcher, an NHS lackey, a part-time sparrow and a grape. He is best known for the hilarious, bestselling and award-winning Mr Gum series and has also written picture books, including Danny McGee Drinks the Sea. Andy lives in North London and likes cartoons, books and music (even jazz).
David Tazzyman studied illustration at Manchester Metropolitan University. As well as illustrating the Mr Gum series, he has illustrated many picture books including Eleanor's Eyebrows, You Can't Take an Elephant on the Bus, Michael Rosen's Jelly Boots, Smelly Boots and My Mum's Growing Down by Laura Dockrill. He lives in Leicester with his wife and three sons.

Andy Stanton studied English at Oxford, and worked as a film script reader, a cartoonist, an NHS lackey and lots of other things. He has many interests, but best of all he likes Radio 4, books and music (even jazz). His books have won the Red House Children's Book Award, the Blue Peter Book Award for 'The Most Fun Story with Pictures', the Roald Dahl Funny Prize, and been shortlisted for the Guardian Children's Book Award. Kate Winslet is a hugely successful Hollywood actress with film credits including THE READER, for which she won an Academy Award for best Actress, ENIGMA, IRIS and TITANIC. David Tazzyman is an internationally acclaimed award-wining illustrator. Born and raised in Leicester, David wanted to be an artist since the age of five. Graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1993, he worked as a commercial illustrator before falling into children's publishing in 2006, illustrating Andy Stanton's Mr Gum series, which went on to win numerous awards, including the first Roald Dahl Funny Prize.
