About The Author
Allan Ahlberg
Allan studied teacher training in Sunderland in the early 1960s, where he met his future wife, Janet. He worked in various jobs, from postman to plumber’s mate, before becoming a primary teacher for ten years. Janet, after realizing policing wasn’t for her, studied graphic design and became an illustrator. Bored with her job, she asked Allan to write a children’s book for her to illustrate. Allan, who had always wanted to write, felt inspired and began the career that would lead them to become a successful author/illustrator team. Influenced by comics and cartoons, they produced masterpieces including PEEPO!, EACH PEACH PEAR PLUM, and THE BABY’S CATALOGUE. These books have become children’s classics.
