Alissa Thomas-Newborn

Alissa Thomas-Newborn is a rabbanit, chaplain, and mom. She provides spiritual care at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Irving Medical Center and serves as the Rabbanit at Congregation Netivot Shalom in Teaneck, NJ. She is a graduate of Yeshivat Maharat, a Board Certified Chaplain and now president of NAJC (Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains), and a Brandeis grad. From 2014 to 2022, Rabbanit Alissa served as the Rabbanit at B’nai David-Judea Congregation in Los Angeles. She lives in Teaneck with her husband, Akiva, and their two children, Ella Liora and Liam Noach.
