About The Author

Ali Gilkeson

Ali Gilkeson

Ali Gilkeson is a performer, author, and speaker. She has traveled the world playing music and sharing stories with the band Rend Collective. She is a mother of three, raising them on the road since they were six weeks old.

Ali grew up in Northern Ireland during a time of conflict and uncertainty. Her childhood was marked by caution, but also by a learned ability to find laughter amidst chaos. A natural communicator, she began speaking around Ireland in her early twenties, eager to encourage and inspire the young people she encountered. Ali finds joy in writing and sharing stories that ignite imagination, provoke thought, and most importantly, bring laughter.

Upon graduating from university, he began his career as a graphic designer at an advertising agency, later transitioning to greeting card design before dedicating himself to illustrating children’s books.
