About The Author
Alfred Fairbank
Alfred John Fairbank (1895-1982) was a British calligrapher and handwriting expert. He was a founding member and chairman of the Society of Scribes and Illuminators, and the founder of the Society for Italic Handwriting. His books were widely used in British schools. He also designed the upright italic typeface Bembo Condensed Italic for Monotype, which was digitized as Fairbank in 2005.
