About The Author
Alexis Quinn
Alexis Quinn is a former professional athlete, a school teacher of over ten years, and the author of the memoir, Unbroken. She is currently Manager of the Restraint Reduction Network. Alexis’s activism was sparked by a crisis following the birth of her first child and the death of her youngest brother. After seeking help and being detained under the Mental Health Act for three and a half years, she escaped to Africa. On conceiving her second child, Alexis recognized the need for better support for autistic mothers. Determined to improve the experience, she adopted a human rights approach to her second pregnancy, resulting in a positive autistic birth experience. This led to her new book, Autistic and Expecting.
