Ahmad Ibn 'Ajiba
Shaykh Ahmad ibn ‘Ajiba (1162 AH/1747 CE - 1224 AH/1809 CE) was a consummate scholar of the deen of Islam, who wrote widely on tafsir and other topics of the shari’a, tariqa and haqiqa. He was a Shaykh of the Darqawi Shadhili tariqa. Shaykh Ahmad ibn ‘Ata’illah al-Iskanderi, the Maliki faqih and shaykh of tasawwuf (658 AH / 1259 CE - 709 AH / 1310 CE), was the heir to the leadership of the Shadhili tariqa in his time, and the one whose authorship most fully articulated it. In particular, he is most noted for his book the Hikam, which has many commentaries written on it, by Ibn ‘Abbad ar-Rundi, Zarruq, and by Ahmad ibn ‘Ajibah among others.
