Decarbonizing the Petroleum Industry

Dr. Achinta Bera is an Assistant Professor of Petroleum Engineering at the School of Energy Technology, Pandit Deendayal Energy University, Gandhinagar, India. He received his Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad in 2014. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta, Canada in the EOGRRC Group from 2014-2015. He then worked at the Petroleum Institute, Abu Dhabi (Khalifa University) as a Postdoctoral Research Associate for 3 years, working on a carbonate reservoir characterization and modeling project funded by ADNOC. He has published numerous articles in international petroleum engineering journals and is a reviewer for over 40 international journals.

Sunil Kumar is the Chief Innovation officer at Sciglyph. He holds a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and completed Postdoctoral research at the University of Calgary, Canada and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. He has over 10 years of research experience in Energy, complex fluids, and carbon analytics, with a focus on underground hydrogen storage and carbon sequestration. He is a reviewer for several international journals and has published more than 21 international journal papers and 3 book chapters.
