What They're Saying
Critics Review
A Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selection“This faithful translation of America’s Dreaming brings this story about an immigrant girl’s first days at a U.S. school to life. This touching example about what different communities have in common succeeds by weaving parts of the U.S. immigrant past into América’s present as the girl navigates the halls of her elementary school and learns that her classmates also seek a place to belong. VERDICT An ideal book that can generate powerful conversations about what it takes to build a safe, strong, and inclusive community.” —Booklist
