Rebecca Johnson (Author)
Rebecca Johnson is a nationally-awarded school science specialist teacher who has published over eighty children’s books and stories, both fiction and non-fiction, focusing on Australian birds and animals. She has received the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Science Teaching in Primary Schools and the Peter Doherty Award for Excellence in Science Teaching. Her books for Steve Parish Publishing (now Pascal Press) have achieved global sales exceeding three million copies. Her illustrated insect book series was commended in the Royal Zoological Society of NSW’s Whitley Awards. She is also the author of the best-selling twelve-book junior fiction series, “Juliet Nearly a Vet,” followed by “Vet Cadets.”
Lucia Masciullo (Illustrator)
Lucia Masciullo grew up in Livorno, Tuscany, and moved to Australia in 2007, where she has since worked as an illustrator. She has illustrated over 30 books, including the CBCA Honour Book and Prime Minister Award short-listed Come Down, Cat! by Sonya Hartnett, the “Our Australian Girl” series, Meet Katie at the Beach by Rebecca Johnson in the “Aussie Kids” series, and An A to Z of Dreaming Differently by Tracey Dembo. She currently resides on the Gold Coast.
