JAMGON MIPHAM (1846-1912)
A luminary of modern Tibetan Buddhism, Jamgon Mipham was a monk, mystic, and philosopher who profoundly influenced the Nyingma school. He revitalized its monastic university tradition and was a prolific writer. His most renowned work is The Epic of Gesar of Ling, a significant composition drawn from Tibetan oral tradition, often compared to Homer’s Iliad or Odyssey.
GYURME AVERTIN
Gyurme Avertin has served as a principal translator for Orgyen Tobgyal Rinpoche and other esteemed Tibetan teachers during their Western tours. His extensive training in both sutra and tantra teachings of Tibetan Buddhism was undertaken in India and Nepal, under the guidance of accomplished masters.
