About The Author

Jerome Hamon

Jérôme Hamon

After studying at an American university and business school, Jérôme Hamon began his career in New York as a financial analyst. Convinced that his true calling lay elsewhere, he left the financial world two years later to travel the globe. Upon returning to France, Hamon held various positions in the film, video game, and television industries. Concurrently, he began writing his first comic book and graphic novel scripts.

In 2008, Hamon traveled to Angoulême to present his completed scripts, where he met artist Marc Van Straceele. They collaborated on “Yokozuna,” a graphic novel about sumo wrestling in Japan (Kana, 2013). Hamon then partnered with artist Antoine Carrion for “Nils,” a saga blending Nordic mythology with the style of Miyazaki (Soleil, 2016). This was followed by “Emma & Capucine,” a series for younger readers exploring the worlds of classical dance and hip-hop (Dargaud 2017, Europe Comics in English 2018), and “Mitsuo,” with Cedric Babouche (Le Lombard, 2018).

Lena Sayaphoum

Born in Montpellier in 1989, drawing has been central to Lena Sayaphoum’s life from the start. Drawing inspiration from artists such as James Jean, Peter Chan, Craig Mullins, and Dice Tsutsumi, she gradually developed her own unique style, teaching herself the craft along the way.

Following her studies in 2D and 3D computer graphics, Sayaphoum worked in various studios as a concept artist, modeler, texture artist, and posing and shadowing artist. She contributed to projects like “Asterix and Obelix: Mansion of the Gods” with Grid VFX.

However, her true passion lay elsewhere. In parallel with her professional work, she continued to cultivate her own creative universes, ranging from fantasy to realism, always deeply personal.

In 2017, in collaboration with Jérôme Hamon, she embarked on her first comic project, “Emma & Capucine,” merging her passion for drawing and illustration with her love for dance.
