About The Author

Paul Cornell

Paul Cornell is a novelist and TV writer with a background in comics. He famously created the character Bernice Summerfield for Doctor Who and has written for the show in both comic and television mediums. His television work includes Robin Hood, Primeval, and Casualty. In comics, he has written for Marvel titles such as Wisdom, Captain Britain and MI13, Dark Reign: Young Avengers, and Fantastic Four: True Story.

Marjorie Liu is a New York Times-bestselling author, formerly a lawyer. She is best known for her Dirk & Steele and Hunter Kiss romance novel series. A dedicated comics fan, her first comic work was the series NYX: No Way Home. She has also written Black Widow, X-23, Daken: Dark Wolverine (with Daniel Way), and the novel X-Men: Dark Mirror.

John Paul Leon studied illustration at New York’s School of Visual Arts under Will Eisner, Jack Potter, and Walt Simonson. He began his professional career illustrating for TSR’s Dragon and Dungeon magazines. Leon entered the comics industry in 1992 with Dark Horse’s Robocop: Prime Suspect, followed by Milestone Comics’ Static, which was adapted into the animated series Static Shock. After graduating in 1994, he contributed striking illustrations to numerous publishers, including Marvel Comics for titles like New X-Men, The Further Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix, Avengers: The Ultron Imperative, Captain America, Daredevil, Marvel Shadows and Light, Moon Knight, and Thor. He is particularly recognized for his acclaimed work on the maxi-series Earth X. Leon also provided artwork for the Superman Returns style guide and children’s books, created licensing art for Batman Begins, and worked on The Winter Men with Brett Lewis for Wildstorm/DC Comics.

Tom Raney, an alumnus of the Joe Kubert School, gained recognition at Marvel with work on Uncanny X-Men and Warlock Chronicles. He also contributed to Wildstorm, introducing characters who became The Authority, and DC, revamping The Outsiders. His notable Marvel credits include co-launching Mutant X, a second run on Uncanny X-Men, X-Men: The Search for Cyclops, Thor, District X, and Ultimate X-Men. He has illustrated the Annihilation: Conquest crossover and miniseries such as Secret Invasion: Inhumans, Dark Reign: Hawkeye, and Black Widow: Deadly Origin.
