Ashley Fairbanks
Ashley Fairbanks is an Anishinaabe artist, writer, organizer, and digital strategist. She runs her own design practice, provides training on anti-racist work, and engages in strategic communications and design, as well as social media and narrative work for campaigns and nonprofits.
Fairbanks began her career designing museum exhibitions and has contributed to a wide range of projects, from municipal to presidential campaigns. She has also founded an Indigenous farmer’s market and a political wing of a hip-hop label. Currently, her work primarily focuses on policy affecting Indigenous people and climate issues with broad impact.
Bridget George
Bridget George is an Anishinaabe author and illustrator. She grew up on Kettle and Stony Point First Nation, a community situated on the shores of Lake Huron, which is the traditional territory of her people.
George is dedicated to fostering positive self-image, promoting lifelong learning, visual storytelling, and ensuring positive Indigenous representation for children and youth. Her debut picture book, It’s a Mitig!, is a bilingual rhyming introduction to the Ojibwe language. She also illustrated Autumn Peltier, Water Warrior by Carole Lindstrom.
