About the Author

SHARMILLA BEEZMOHUN has worked in publishing since 1994 and was the Deputy Editor of Wasafiri. Sharmilla’s first novel, Echoes of a Green Land, was published in translation in Spain. She edited Continental Shifts, Shifts in Perception and co-edited A Meeting of the Continents. Sharmilla is a Trustee of Carcanet Publishers and the George Padmore Institute. She is also on the international organising committee of AfroEurope@s.
