Deborah Albon worked as a nursery nurse, teacher and manager in a range of early childhood settings for nearly 20 years before working in Higher Education. Her research interests are primarily around food and drink provisioning in early childhood settings. In particular her work explores the way 'food events' offer a lens through which to examine adult-child (and family) relationships in early childhood settings. Deborah is widely published in this area and has co-written the textbook Research Methods in Early Childhood with Penny Mukherji (soon to be in 3rd edition) as well as co-writing the book Negotiating Adult-Child Relationships in Early Childhood Research with Rachel Rosen. This latter book examines the `messiness' of navigating research relationships in the context of early childhood settings.

Deborah worked at London Metropolitan University for 13 years and now works as a Senior Lecturer in Early Childhood Studies at University of Roehampton. She has considerable experience teaching research methods to both undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as supporting them with their dissertations.
