About the Author
The author of more than fifteen books, Joyce Blackburn started as professional radio broadcaster in Chicago. A radio play she wrote and performed called "Suki and the Invisible Peacock" led a contract for a book of the same name, which, in turn, led to the popular Suki series. Subsequent prize-winning titles for young readers have made Blackburn well known to librarians and teachers. Her popular historical biographies have earned her an enthusiastic adult following.
