Angus Konstam was born in Aberdeenin 1960, but was brought up in theOrkney Islands, now part of Scotland butonce ruled by Viking lords and part ofthe Nordic empire. One of the world’sleading authorities on the history ofpiracy, Angus has worked for the RoyalNavy and the Royal Armouries, studiedarchaeology, curated a maritime historymuseum in Florida, and is now a fulltime writer. Angus currently has over 70books in print on subjects from pirates tothe American Civil War.
